The Guadalajara Cathedral blends Spanish Renaissance architecture with later neo-Gothic additions. The current structure dates to 1561. It replaced an earlier adobe church destroyed by fire. You can view the Exterior and Plazas from four surrounding squares.
Inside, the Cathedral Interior holds 11 side altars and a massive 19th-century French pipe organ. Visitors can view the reliquary of Santa Inocencia near the west entrance. You can also explore The Crypts beneath the main altar.
The iconic yellow spires are not original. An 1818 earthquake collapsed the first towers. Builders reconstructed the current 65-meter spires between 1851 and 1854.
